Past Lionheads
These wonderful rabbits have all spent time in the Amethyst Stud shed, some for a long time and some for a shorter while. Even though they're now gone, either to new owners or over the 'rainbow bridge', every single one has helped us out along the way and they're never forgotten.

Bramble

Born: 17th March 2012
Colour: Blue
Sex: Buck
Confident and cheeky, Bramble was truly one of a kind. His colour was possibly the most beautiful blue I'd ever seen in a Lionhead, and though he never had much mane it was his stance that made him stand out on the show table. It was clear that he loved going to shows, as he held himself so proudly throughout the judging. It was this that led him to do so well in the Pet Shows, making everyone smile and breezing his way through to a Pet Diploma. He was Rosemary's sister and Itsy Bitsy's father, meaning there are still many reminders of him living in our shed.
Died in December 2014 from a chest infection.

Cadbury

Born: 4th October 2011
Colour: Chocolate
Sex: Female
We owe Cadbury so much, as it was her really that started our breeding lines off. We brought her already mated from another breeder, and her four babies were the first purebred Lionheads to be born in the Amethyst Stud Shed. One of those babies was the amazing Twix, our first home-bred show rabbit, who did us very proud in her 9 month showing career. Cadbury never had another litter quite as good as Twix so was rehomed to a lovely lady who adopt older does, who eventually went on to rehome Dot from us a year later.
Rehomed in August 2013.

Dot

Born: 23rd August 2011
Colour: VM Sooty Fawn
Sex: Doe
Looking back, Dot can be considered one of our true Matriarchs of the shed. Including her daughter Pippin and son Gobbolino, both of whom we still have, we've had a great many of her descendants over the ages. She was always incredibly friendly, at the front of the hutch asking for a nose rub every morning and night, and she loved nothing better than a handful of fresh grass of an evening. She was also a wonderful mother, raising many litters of babies all with fantastic temperaments.
Rehomed in November 2014.

Venus

Born: 9th September 2014
Colour: VM Sooty Fawn
Sex: Doe
The stunning Vee would have made the most incredible show rabbit, had it not been for the white stripe down her face! She had a fantastic personality, though could be a little headstrong if she was made to wait for her dinner a little longer than she wanted. She was our first 2nd-generation rabbit born here- the daughter of another home-bred rabbit- and went on to give birth to our first 3rd generation rabbit too. She lives on in the form of her two daughters, Pearl and Cilla, and shortly before her untimely death she became a grandmother with Pearl's first litter.
Died in June 2016 from GI Stasis.
