The customary second show of the year, this was a lovely but very cold day! I was on book duty yet again for the fur and rex judge, so I had very little idea of how the Lionheads had got on until after the judging had finished. Having finally come through his moult Buzz looked fantastic on the show table and recieved some lovely comments from both judge and stewards, and was placed 2nd in the Rex Challenge after a very long debate! Cilla and Reuben did fantastically too, with Cilla as 4th in the adult Fancy Challenge and Reuben taking 2nd in the u/5 Fancy Challenge. Aside from judging most of the day was taken up by chatting to friends we didn't have a chance to see at Bradford, and I've been offered yet another judging engagement in the next few months! I can already tell that 2017 is going to be a busy year!

Due to the Bradford show changing it's venue from Harrogate to Doncaster we actually got one more hour of sleep than usual! Nonetheless we were still driving up at a rediculous time of day, making it to the hotel for breakfast at 6:30am before we were down to the show hall. With us were our largest Bradford team to date; Cilla, Buzz, Reuben and first-timers Luke and Leia, and Ammie came out for the first time since suffering a stroke over the summer- it wouldn't be Bradford without her! It was a wave of seconds and thirds all around, though with the large class sizes we were pleased with the entire team. During the afternoon mum went back to the hotel to grab couple of extra hour's sleep while I stayed helping out on our friends' stand, though in hindsight I really should have gone with her as I was falling asleep behind the till! The NLRC AGM was held in the afternoon where it was announced Amethyst Stud had won 4th in the Members Points again, only missing out on 3rd by a single point! After the AGM we put the bunnies to bed before heading back to the hotel for a hilarious meal with the club and yet another very late night! We had a tiny lie-in the next morning before we had breakfast, defrosted the car and headed back to the show hall, spending the day helping out on our friends' stand and catching up with some of our more northerly friends. The weekend was over all too soon and we said our goodbyes before making the journey home, though it was a great way to kick off the second year of showing under our Stud name.
